UPDATE: See below
The new redesign is up here. Please check it out and tell me (by way of a comment or an email) if there are any problems. I'll probably change this design over the weekend if there are no major problems. I still have some tinkering to do with the Amazon ads.* I don't like too many visual distractions when reading - cough Bangkok Post cough - so I'll try to make them blend in more and remove some of the images.
The righthand sidebar tabview of Recent Comments/Newslinks/Twitter has been tested in a few browsers, but I would be interested to know if anyone comes across any problems. If your internet connection is slow, you will need to wait about 5-10 seconds between toggling between Recent Comments/Newslinks/Twitter.
A blogroll will be added and recent and popular posts once I move over.
UPDATE: The theme/template is based on this one. I will add top navigation links like "About This Blog", "Contact BP" and others like FAQ later. I just want to make sure it doesn't crash anyone's browser or look completely unusual. I have tested it in Firefox, IE 6 and IE 7 which make up the vast majority of users.
*I initially never wanted any ads, but I have brought half a dozen books on Thai politics/violence in the South from my Google adsense revenue so basically any money I "earn" goes back into the site through book and magazine purchases. Later, I will arrange for someone in Bangkok to buy a scanner.

New design is much, much better on a Blackberry. The posts are now up front, rather than at the bottom.
Must say I prefer your old design. Looks more compact and able to hold more content - I'd go for a change if you can enhance the presentation of content as well as functionality.
But as observer said - a two column design with the main body on the first left column is much easier to read on most mobile browsers.
Clean. Ads are well integrated. The tabbed sidebar is cool, keeps the clutter down.
i prefer your current design, even if it looks a little funny on my phone.
I prefer the old design because of the fonts. IMO, its too big in your new one, but otherwise, it gives a very IHT/NYT website feel. Clean and content oriented.
Anyways, are you well versed in XHTML?
Just an old conservative, I guess:
more colour in the old BP.
Like the Latin, though!

Tabs are nice. But only noticed them after reading WiseKwai's comment. Perhaps tab headings should be bold? The highlighted date and authorship bar is distinctive.
