Karun in Trouble

The Nation reports:

People Power Party MP Karun Hosakul has been found guilty of physical and verbal attacks against Democrat MP Sompong Kiartpaibul inside Parliament on April 2, the House fact-finding report said in its conclusion Friday.

MP Vichet Panvichartkul said the report will be forwarded for the House deliberation on punishment.

"The fact-finding panel reached an unanimous decision to conclude that Karun assualted Somkiart and that Karun had used rude langauge," Vichet said.

Karun refused to comment, saying he had not had a chance to study the report.

BP: See my previous posts on the issue here and here. He has publicly said he would resign if the report find him at fault. Give it was unanimous, he has no other option. Will he resign quickly or stay around and be an embarrassment?

I would like to see the outcome of this as well. Its a unanimous decision meaning the evidence must have been pretty clear. No excuses can be made.

This is Thailand. I bet he'll resign as MP but get moved sideways to an "inactive" post. Has anyone ever noticed that "inactive" posts always seem to pay just as well as the "active" ones? :-)
